Energy & Environment
With a focus on sustainability, population growth, and environmental shifts, our students and faculty are on the forefront of innovative practice and real-world solutions.
In 1890 the University of Pennsylvania established its architecture department with the express purpose of improving the built environment for Philadelphians. Generations of Penn graduates have shaped their profession through their practice and scholarship, and the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design continues to train the future leaders of design’s many fields.
More recently, the University of Pennsylvania reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable innovation with the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy. Launched in 2014, The Kleinman Center creates conditions for policy innovation that support a just and efficient transition to sustainable energy.
